Sisterhood is collecting recipes for an upcoming cookbook and we are hungry for more. We have requested copies of your favorite kosher recipes by topic. So far we have covered the following topics: desserts; appetizers; soup/salad; kugel/pasta; vegetarian dishes; meat dishes; and for the month of March we are adding poultry recipes. We are still accepting recipes from all of these topics. Please submit copies of your favorites to Marion Daitzman and Sandy Oser. E-mails of your computerized recipes are also welcome.
We are having a cookbook naming contest. Please send your cookbook name suggestions to Sandy and Marion.

An afternoon of ‘story telling’ by nationally known storyteller, Linda Spitzer, a native of Orlando and former member of Temple Israel. Linda will present two sessions, an early story session with Religious School students and a second session for adults.

Ba'alai Tefilah Class
Adult Education is calling on Temple Israel future Cantorial Soloists. Debbie Meitin, our own Cantorial Soloist, will hold Shabbat Services training classes for anyone who has the ability and the willingness to lead serves on Shabbat. (beginning with the Torah service and Musaf).
Reading knowledge of Hebrew is preferred. This is an opportunity to enrich your skills and it will make you and your family proud.

Classes With The Rabbi
Lunch and Learn with Rabbi Gary G. Perras Wednesdays at 12:00 pm (In the Social Hall) Rabbi Perras will teach 2 courses. The first hour of class will be a study of the weekly Torah portion, and the second hour of class will be Chasidic stories and lore. There is no charge for either class. Participants may bring a cold dairy lunch. So come in already and bring a friend.
Basic Judaism/Conversion/Beginner's Hebrew Class with Rabbi Gary G. Perras Sundays at 12:00 pm (In the Library) A year-long Basic Judaism/Conversion Class including basic Hebrew. Judaism is so vast and so deep that even native-born Jews have a lot to learn. Please join us.

-TI’s first month of collecting supplies for Haiti Relief are being delivered this week to the Rosen Haiti Relief and Sustainability Effort. Will TI continue to collect supplies? The answer is yes: “The devastation in Haiti is immeasurable. This is a long-term commitment.” from Rosen website
As long as organizations are collecting, we will support them. Drop off into the brown bags:
First aid kits, medical supplies (bandages, gauze, peroxide, etc.), blankets, towels, washcloths, hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.), antibiotics, bug spray and medical and school supplies.
-TI continues to collect non-perishable food for the JFS Pearlman Food Pantry in the brown bags around the temple. Interested in volunteer opportunities? Look at the JFS website for ideas: www.jfsorlando.org
-Pencil in the date! On Sunday, March 28th, Christine Tudhope of the Faces of Homelessness Speakers Bureau (www.nationalhomeless.org will present what she knows about homelessness here in central Florida. Plan to attend, 11 am in the Social Hall.

Prayer Books
New Prayer books available for dedication
A brand new supply of Shabbat Prayer Books have just arrived and are available for dedication.
The dedication of a prayer book or bible is a uniquely appropriate way to make a gift of tzedakah which benefits the congregation for years to come. Your dedicated prayer book or bible will be utilized by the entire congregation.
The appropriate minimum contribution for each sacred book is as follows:
$36 - New Shabbat Siddur
$54 - New Chumash
Upon receipt of your donation, an acknowledgement card will be sent, In addition, a book plate, recording the specific dedication, will be inserted in the designated book which will then be placed into the congregation circulation.
