Temple Israel's Youth
Education Program |
Temple
Israel is a progressive Conservative Synagogue, affiliated
with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
Through our many program options, we offer educational
opportunities for pre-schoolers through adults.
The first component consists of pre-kindergarten
through Grade 1. This group meets on Sunday mornings
from 9 a.m. until noon. The curriculum includes bible
stories, prayers, music, dance, and arts & crafts.
Our goal is to instill the love and joy of Judaism
in even the youngest of our children and to do it
in a warm, loving, and welcoming environment.
Grades 2 through 7 meet on both Sundays and Wednesdays
for a total of 5 ½ hours of study each week.
The curriculum includes Hebrew, Judaic Studies, Torah,
Tefillah, music, art, Jewish history, and the history
of Israel. We strive to continually encourage each
student to explore the ideas and visions of Judaism.
Students in Grades 8 through 12 continue their studies
at our community Jewish high school, Beit Hamidrash.
Beit Hamidrash is the intercongregational high school
program that offers teens a unique, in-depth Jewish
learning experience taught by leading rabbis, educators
and community leaders.
